Thierry Donard is a visionary filmmaker and a pioneer in extreme sports cinema. Beginning his career at just 13 with his first ski film, he was mentored by legendary filmmaker Dick Barrymore in 1978, inspiring his lifelong dedication to adventure filmmaking.
In 1996, Thierry revived the iconic Nuit de la Glisse series, establishing one of Europe’s leading extreme sports labels with a vast distribution network. With a career spanning nearly four decades, he has captured the feats of countless extreme sports legends, redefining the genre of adventure cinema through his breathtaking documentaries.
Michelle Maclaren
Michelle MacLaren is a renowned filmmaker and two-time Emmy Award winner with a career that has profoundly influenced the television landscape. Known for her visionary storytelling and masterful direction, Michelle has directed and executive produced some of the most iconic series of our time, including Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Westworld, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, and The Morning Show. She began her career with a notable directorial debut on The X-Files in collaboration with Vince Gilligan, showcasing her talent for crafting compelling narratives. Over the years, her work has garnered critical acclaim, earning her six Emmy nominations and establishing her as a creative force in the industry. As a jury member for the Future World Film Festival, Michelle brings her extraordinary expertise and passion for storytelling to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
Sara MAY
Sara May is an accomplished film executive with extensive experience in acquisitions, co-productions, and international distribution. As Director of Acquisitions and Co-productions for France and Italy at Netflix, Sara has played a pivotal role in identifying and championing groundbreaking projects that resonate with global audiences.
Prior to joining Netflix in 2018, Sara held leadership positions in European sales and co-productions at Alma Cinema and Embankment Films. She spent nearly a decade at TF1, where she was instrumental in shaping the company’s international distribution strategies. Her career also includes notable roles at Europacorp and M6, further solidifying her reputation for sourcing compelling stories and fostering cross-border collaborations.
With a proven track record of driving innovative content and supporting visionary filmmakers, Sara continues to be a leading force in the entertainment industry, shaping the future of storytelling on an international scale.
Daniela Ruah
Daniela Ruah is an accomplished actress with a dynamic career spanning television, theater, and live events. She began acting at 16 in the Portuguese soap opera Jardins Proibidos and gained prominence with lead roles in Portuguese television, short films, and theater. She won the celebrity dance competition Dança Comigo (Portugal’s Dancing with the Stars), showcasing her versatility.
Internationally, Ruah is best known for her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye on the hit series NCIS: Los Angeles (2009–2023), including a crossover appearance on Hawaii Five-0. Her theatrical credits include Proof at Los Angeles' Hayworth Theatre, and in 2018, she co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.
With her rich experience across genres and global appeal, Ruah brings a discerning eye and deep appreciation for storytelling to the Future World Film Festival jury.
blake farber
Blake Farber is an accomplished writer-director based in New York City, whose work spans the globe. Born into a family of fine art photographers, Blake’s creative journey began early, leading him to pursue a career in filmmaking. By his teenage years, he was living independently in Manhattan’s East Village, where he quickly established himself in the music video industry.
Notably, Blake directed Beyoncé's acclaimed Countdown music video, a project that showcased his unique vision and solidified his reputation as a dynamic filmmaker. Transitioning into the commercial world, Blake has directed campaigns for renowned global brands including Nike, Apple, Toyota, Pepsi, Ray-Ban, and Guinness, with shoots spanning over 30 countries.
Blake currently divides his time between New York City and São Paulo, Brazil. He is developing his debut feature film, inspired by his experiences as a visual artist and global storyteller. His ability to blend cultural perspectives with striking visual narratives makes him an important figure in our jury!

Philippe Starck is a world-renowned designer, creator, and visionary whose groundbreaking work transcends industries and disciplines. A pioneer of democratic design, Starck has spent his career improving lives through accessible, innovative, and purposeful creations. From everyday products to cutting-edge architecture, spatial design, and naval engineering, his influence is felt across the globe.
Starck’s philosophy—that creation must serve as many people as possible—has cemented his status as one of the most influential and forward-thinking creators of our time. His work combines functionality, aesthetics, and a commitment to making the world a better place.

Albano Jerónimo
Albano Jerónimo is a distinguished Portuguese actor and director whose career spans theatre, film, and television, earning acclaim for his versatility and impactful performances. Co-founder of Teatro Nacional21, he has worked with renowned directors and starred in productions like Coriolanus and Miss Julie. His lead roles in films such as The Domain (A Herdade, Venice) and Remains of the Wind (Restos do Vento, Cannes) highlight his international appeal, alongside TV credits like El Presidente (Amazon), Vikings (HBO), and Turn of the Tide (Rabo de Peixe, Netflix).
With prestigious awards including multiple Golden Globes and the Dublin Film Critics Award, Albano’s expertise across mediums makes him an incredibly special addition to the Future World Film Festival jury.
Joaquim de Almeida
Joaquim de Almeida is a celebrated Portuguese actor with a distinguished international career in film, television, and stage spanning over four decades. He rose to prominence with standout roles in acclaimed films such as Clear and Present Danger, Desperado, Fast Five, and The Burning Plain. His performances have showcased his versatility across genres, from action thrillers to complex dramas, and his ability to bring depth to both lead and supporting characters.
De Almeida's work includes collaborations with prominent directors like Robert Rodriguez (Desperado), Justin Lin (Fast Five), and Steven Soderbergh (Che: Part Two). On television, he delivered powerful performances in major series, including his roles as Ramon Salazar in 24 and Don Epifanio Vargas in Queen of the South, earning critical acclaim and multiple award nominations.

Nick Broomfield is a legendary filmmaker renowned for his bold and investigative approach to documentary storytelling. With a career spanning decades, he has created groundbreaking works such as Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer, Kurt and Courtney, and Biggie and Tupac, which have earned critical acclaim for their fearless exploration of complex subjects. Honored with accolades including a Sundance First Prize and a BAFTA, Nick has redefined the art of cinematic storytelling and continues to influence the documentary genre. Beatriz Batarda is an acclaimed actress whose illustrious career spans over 60 films and countless theatrical productions.
